The Masons, God, and the Knights of Columbus

039The Masons, God, and the Knights of Columbus

  Mr. O’Malley had come upon hard times and was desperate for some hard cash so out of his desperation he thought he would write a letter to God and present his case along with his supplication for some much needed cash.

He wrote; Dear Lord, Due to the economy and the fact that I haven’t been able to find a job my wife and I are in bad trouble and  I am in need of one hundred dollars so if you would be so gracious  to please send it to me I will be forever thankful.                             Yours truly                                                                                                                          Patrick O’Malley

He addressed the letter to God Almighty, Heaven.

When it arrived at the post office it was kicked out of the mail for an undeliverable address. The post master looked at it and upon reading it decided to take it to his Masons meeting that night and after reading it the Masons  took a vote to send Mr. O’Malley fifty dollars.

Well after a few weeks Mr. O’Malley still had not found a job and out of more desperation he decided that he would write another letter to God. Here is what he wrote;

Dear Lord, I first of all want to thank you for the money you sent me, it arrived just in time so again I thank you from the bottom of my heart. But I still haven’t found a job and the money you sent is gone so I am asking you again if you would send me another one hundred dollars. Only this time Dear Lord would you please send it through the Knights of Columbus, those Masons stole half of it the  last time.

Yours Truly

Patrick O’Malley
